Habitat for Humanity
The GAP Habitat House will need help adding walls Saturday, October 26, 2019, at 8:00 a.m., at 312 Todd Street, Belmont. Last week, 22 volunteers worked to panelize the four bedroom house. Members of First Presbyterian Church of Gastonia, First Presbyterian Church of Belmont and, Southminster Church, pulled together to make it happen. We will need even more people to unload and put the walls in place next Saturday, October 26, 2019, at 312 Todd Street, Belmont, NC (park in Reid Park, adjacent to the build site). Please consider joining our crew. If you can assist us, please contact Gwin Hilton by call or text to 704-813-1863 or emailing her at gwin.hilton@gmail.com. Please remember that participants at the build site must be 16 years of age or older. Thank you for your help.

Youth Sunday
Youth Sunday will be on October 27, 2019. We need as many students to be involved as possible as we will be leading both services. Participants need to be present at both services. This is one of the ways that we plug in and serve our church. We will be preparing for Youth Sunday during Sunday School, and it is vital that all high school students be present. Parents, please discuss this with your child and express the excitement that the congregation has for seeing them lead. The theme is “Church Family,” and we will take you on a journey of how youth have been shaped as a member of the church family.

Ordination To Ministry of Word and Sacrament
The Ordination Service of Allison Greene Simmons as minister of word and sacrament in the Presbyterian Church USA is Sunday, October 27, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Gastonia, NC. A reception will follow the service.

Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About the Interim Process
Dr. Cynthia M. Benz will make a presentation on what happens during an interim period in a church. This is an extremely important time in the life of First Presbyterian Church, and it will be more fruitful if we know what to expect. The interim process has changed significantly since the last time we were transitioning between installed ministers and this is a great opportunity to learn what it is like now, and to ask questions. Cindy will first share some information about how she came to serve as an Interim Minister and why she is passionate about it. She will then give us an idea of what we can expect during this time and how we can help! If there was ever a time to be plugged in, and participate, this is it! Dinner will be served. This event will take place on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at 5:30 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall.Place holder if we have more announcements coming in!

The Youth of Our Church Need You

Mid-High meets from 5:30- 6:30 p.m., have a joint dinner from 6:30- 7:00 p.m., and High Schoolers meet from 7:00- 8:00 p.m. Back when our youth were baptized, you made a promise...and they still need you!
