What to Expect on Sunday Morning

Expect to be greeted with our warmest hospitality.

If you need anything at all during your visit to First Presbyterian Church, please reach out to one of our greeters and ushers. They locate themselves at each entrance to the Sanctuary and in the Narthex during the service. They are here to help you with anything you need while you are our guest! If you would like to get to know our ministers, please find them after the service. They are always eager to greet you. If you would like specific information about joining our church or would be willing to provide feedback about your visit, please contact Jason Davenport or stop by the Welcome table on your way to lunch.
You are always welcome at First Presbyterian - where faith is alive!

Expect a poignant  service with beautiful, transcendent music and dynamic, life-changing preaching.

Each Sunday at 11:00 a.m., we offer a traditional Presbyterian worship service ordered by five major actions:
  • We Gather in God's Presence with words of welcome and church announcements, a contemplative musical prelude and silent meditation, a stirring call to worship, and uplifting processional hymn.
  • We Approach God through an invitation to confession, prayer of confession, assurance of pardon, and a time for young disciples.
  • We Listen to God's Word from both the Old and New Testaments, while being encouraged by a dynamic sermon from one of our three ministers.
  •  We Respond to God's Word by affirming our faith, offering prayers for all people, and presenting our tithes and offerings to God.
  • We Bear God's Word into the World as faithful disciples of Christ.
